Greatest Baseball Crowd Ever
The Guinness Book of World Records lists the record for the most fans attending a single series of games. The 1959 World Series between the Dodgers and the White Sox drew 420,000 people in six games. Accompanying the entry is a photograph of the Los Angeles Coliseum, a football stadium.

1. Damn, that's a lot of people...
I'm always blown away by these soccer stadiums that can seat over 100,000. So many people in one place!

2. One of those games had 100,000.
Of late, the San Diego Padres have had the single game attendance marks with several games over 62,000. Of course they have to give stuff away on nights that they play LA, SF. The largest crowd this season to date was in the SD home opener. I beleive they had 63,000 plus.
Most of the new ballparks cant hold more than 50,000, so the older "cookie cutter" stadiums will be the ones that hold the most.

3. My brother was there - Bill Veeck gave a rose to everyone in Comiskey.
He came home and gave it to me - just one of the many things from my youth that I wish I had saved.

4. The LA Dodgers when they played at the Coliseum...
...attracted a few crowds of 90,000+ at times. I don't have my Guinness book with me, so I don't quite know for sure.

5. Over 80,000 at Mile High Stadium home opener in 1993
Every game that year was a sellout, averaged over 55,000 for 81 games, including nearly 250,000 for a 3-game series with St. Louis.
