Poll question: Favorite gang related movie.
Mob or Mafia or organized crime stuff doesn't count.

Can be totally a "gang" movie, or important to the plot (example: the bikers in "Every Which Way But Loose").

My favorite... "The Warriors".

I remember when it actually was banned in Boston.

18. Not really my fave but just saw it. Man what fake grafitti! And it
was good to see a young Don Cheadle, a cool actor. It was deliciously cheesy.

5. The greatest gang movie isn't on there
meanace to society. At first glance, it seems like it exploits the stereotypes of young blacks in the inner city, but you can find the underlying message which can be applied to all walks of life.

That, and mc eiht as a-wax was the shit.

14. Outstanding, intense flick. I love how the tension builds in the last
half of the movie as everything closes in on the main character. O dog is great too.

12. I voted for "The Wanderers" (also a fine debut novel by Richard Price)
I would have voted for "A Clockwork Orange", but I always consider it a dystopian film, not a gang one.

15. Borderline.
The "Dogs" were a one shot deal that could walk away from the action. I'm thinking more in terms of the surrogate family/outcast social clubs.

17. Great movie.
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 10:57 PM by D__S
Gary Oldman was perfect as Sid. I guess the entourage was a bit of a gang, but it was rooted more in fashion and fads then commitment and/or necessity.

One bit of dialouge:

Punk #1: "I don't want to be a punk anymore". "I want to be a Teddy Boy".

(or something like that... IIRC, it was the black punk kid that said it).
