anyone take/taking provigil?

hi, my mom asked me to look into the high (and low) lites of provigil. she has add and depression and ritalin no longer works for her
i would far prefer she take the natural route but shes just read about this and wants very much something to help her lack of focus & motivation and of course her fatigue.

if anyone has any experience with this medication i would love to hear about it. from what ive read it seems like it could be best to start at 100mg in the am, possibly working to 200 mg dosage.

also if you could say what it has helped with , or not
and how long it took before you felt the effects of it

I take it for my CFS/ME, otherwise I get ridiculously sleepy in the middle of the day. It has been helpful, but I'll be honest, it's no magic pill. I take 200mgs daily and still feel exhausted most of the time.

Also it took forever to get my insurance company (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) to approve it for the use my doctor prescribed it for. It is only approved by most insurance companies for use for narcolepsy and shift work and sleep disorders.

i also have cf, though i am dealing with it through alternative medicine. if you are up to it i would like to hear as much as you would like to share about that - or not!

for me, i just primarily have severe fatigue and have for many yrs. i now understand what is going on, after many doctors of course, and so i feel good about the possibilities, but i dont feel any differently than i did
thankfully i dont take any pharmaceuticals, and really havent at any point. of course i tried things for the first couple yrs but they made the situation worse and part of what led me to alternative medicine (that ,and the doctors caring very little about what was actually going on)

anyway, from what i have been reading about provigil, it does sound very hit & miss. and i will definitely pass along to her that its tough to get coverage for.
she has been taking ritalin and other things, but no antidepressants have helped her and shes tried about all of them
