>>Twinkies maker files for bankruptcy protection
By Jessica Wohl, Reuters

NEW YORK — Interstate Bakeries (IBC), maker of Hostess Twinkies and Wonder Bread, filed for bankruptcy protection Wednesday after struggling with more than $1.3 billion in debt and high costs.

"This is a business that has been in steady decline for the last eight years and they sometimes blame Atkins (diet plans) or blame other consumer trends," said Pinheiro. "But the bottom line is that this company hasn't innovated ... and when they have innovated they've generally been one step late.<<

2. There goes the 'Twinkie' defense!
Good riddance -- twinkies and wonder bread are NOT food!

3. Good!
That stuff is poison. Nothing but sugar and trans-fats.

(homer)Mmmmmm...trans fats....(/homer)

(I have to start somewhere. Everyone was a n008 once...)

I hope they don't go out of business. Twinkies may be poison in a plastic pouch, but they taste so goos....
(edit - had to get Homer in there "Stupid brackets!")

8. We need some REAL pop stars to start a big new trend.

Because it just so happens that you can lose a lot of weight and lower your cholestoral by WALKING or BICYCLING instead of DRIVING.

This just might be the key to world peace. If this caught on like Adkins, the big oil companies would go bankrupt too.

Can anyone think of a catchy name?

Who would best be able to popularize the trendy NO-OIL diet?

On edit: typo

On 2nd edit: The NO-CARBon-based-fuels diet?
