7. here's a list of quotes from him
http://www.totse.com/en/conspiracy/institutional_analysis/lhldefd.html

he also thinks Queen Elizabeth is controlling all the world's drug trade, that we should being a project to colonize Mars, and that the US economy will one day collapse into a new Great Depression unless we revert back to the gold standard.

9. Ah, memories
That's right, most of you young'uns never got to experience the joy of LaRouchies flooding your caucuses and primaries, screwing up your party, and trying to get elected to foist their conspiracy theory/fascist beliefs on the general public.

LaRouchies notoriously f'd up the Illinois state elections in 1986, when two of their Anglo-named people won the Democratic primary against the two, slavic-sounding-named endorsed candidates. In order to run, the endorsed Dems had to leave the party and run as 3rd-party candidates, therefore leading to confusion and a Repub victory.

I had a good friend working in that election, and he said the LaRouchies were the most despicable of human beings-- racists, homophobes, you name it.

Last I heard LaRouche was in federal prison for tax evasion or election fraud-- but he's probably out by now.

20. I made a little video of a LaRouchian...
Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 06:25 PM by LoZoccolo
...back at the beginning of May. She was protesting the fact that LaRouche was denied a spot at the Democratic presidential candidate debate they had back then. Her rationale was that he had the most individual contributions of any candidate running at the time (I wonder if Dean or Kucinich has beaten him by now) Some things she said:

on the Democratic party: "We're taking it back from Franklin Delano Roosevelt's tradition, which is who Lyndon LaRouche is."
(I think she meant "to" instead of "from.")

"The young people are the generation that can do it cuz they have a love of truth and Mr. LaRouche is the most truthful person that's ever lived in this planet."
(I showed the video to someone at work and this was the point where he started realizing this was kind of scary.)

"He was in prison under Bush's father for five years because he never would cut a deal with the establishment that's why he's loved and known around the world."

on why Lydon LaRouche must be elected president: "He's the one qualified through his mastery of the Socratic method."

To her credit, she did seem to know a lot about the roots of neocon philosophy with regard to Leo Strauss and I actually learned a lot from non-LaRouche sources when I went to go check to see if it was true or not (it was the first I'd heard of Strauss).

For free she gave me a little newspaper, this little newsprint magazine (MSRP $1), a bigger magazine that looked kind of like an academic journal called /Executive Intelligence Review/ (MSRP $10), and she pointed out this book about a proposal for a transit system that was advertised on the back of /Executive Intelligence Review/ that was like $75. It seems like he'd make a lot of money selling publications to these people, kind of like the Church of Scientology does to their followers.

5. vote for him
Seriously. I had to deal with Shrub for too many years as governor and now as pResident. I would vote for ANYONE over him. Even Lyndon. Hell, at least he's entertaining. :-)

8. Never happen
The man's a loon (and a felon), and his following is essentially a cult, hardly a political movement at all. He preaches that Queen Elizabeth and Henry Kissinger are colluding to addict most of the free world to heroin. Really!

I confess I do like his idea to build a canal from the Mediterranean through Israel and Palestine and build fusion-pawered desalinating plants to fill it with fresh water. But I've always been a science fiction fan, and the fact of the matter is, we don't know how to do it. (Would it be worthy of a crash research program? We might need it in, say, Los Angeles.)

12. heh
Reminds me of his plan in the late 80s to drain the water from the great lakes and divert it to the desert southwest. Needless to say, it was not a big hit here in Minnesota.

Where are the ABB'ers when you need them? Or are they a bunch of liars?

17. I choose disorganized
By my comment I meant to ask if people are saying ABB without meaning it. Not that people denouncing LaRouche are necessarily liars.

19. Since he won't win it's a moot point....
Think again if you would choose disorganized crime..it looks a lot like the Hutus and Tutsi's.

Perhaps you didn't think your answer through very well.
