Another Cat Question
Why, when I go down the stairs, one of the cats always runs between my feet and stop 2 steps from where I am?

Do they get points for various reactions?

Yell "move!" 1 point
Obscenities 2 points
Grab onto railing 2 points
Tumble down the stairs 5 points
Tumble down stairs trying to grab railing, screaming obscenities 14 points

Is this their plan?

1. No
They are merely assisting you by assuring that no vermin cross your path. To cats humans are loved but highly inefficient beings who cannot hunt properly. Therefore they assist by making sure the path is clear for you.

Some cats perfer to ride on your shoulder, that gives them an even high perspective from which to survey the hunting area.

2. Gosh -
were you a cat in a former life?

Between this reply and the one in the other thread, I'm beginning to wonder...

3. No
but I've been owned by cats for a long, long time. And after nearly forty years of servitude, I am very well trained.

6. One of mine will
when I open the door, he will run into the bathroom and into the shower to lick up the water that is standing on the floor. I check his water bowl - completely full.

What does this one mean?

8. Well it's fresh water, natural water
that he's captured for himself, therefore much better than pro-offered water. Just like a tasty cricket tastes much better than Fancy Feast.

7. the cat is simply psychotic...
It's exactly what a cat I used to know would do. The cat was appropiately name Kickit.

Kickit had a sister named duster because she like to sleep under the guest bed and would emerge covered in dust bunnies
