Worst abbreviation?
Saw a hung letter sign reading: Church of the week: Asbury Meth. There but for a couple thousand miles, more or less, it could have been much more interesting:
http://www.churchangel.com/WEBND/crystal.htm
(scroll down about 3/4 of the page)

I'm sure y'all can top this one easily, of course.

5. We had a new manager some years back
that had some business cards made for her. She wasn't giving them out and when the boss asked her about it she said she didn't want to give out a card that said "Mary Jones, Ass Man." I used a different name by the way but you wonder who does the proof reading if any. Does anyone look at these things and say "yeah, ass man, that sounds good?" LOL.

11. I always hated Calif.
I hate when people abbreviate states in any way other than the 2-letter code. So therefore I hate the following:

Calif.
Cali.
Cal.
Rhode Is. (yes, I saw this one on MSNBC)
Del.
Fla. (reminds me of my Yankee cousins who say FLAR-a-dah)
Miss. (WHICH ONE? Mississippi or fucking Missouri???)
Mich.
Wash.
Tex.
Okla. (shudder)
Ark.
Kan.
Pen.
Penn.
Conn.

...and, well, the rest.

Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 11:33 AM by tarkus
They sell hats and shirts that just say "MOFO.com" on them. I think the firm is called Morrison and Forrester or something like that.

15. Heck, I'd hire 'em
I'd maybe call it the most improbable abbreviation; you wouldn't expect a law firm to embrace the term, but I got a big kick out of it.

14. Worst abbr.
IANAL (I am not a lawyer, as in "IANAL, but I think that is illegal)

Zoo Ass (I use this in my daily agenda to denote "Zoology Assignment")

And let's not forget the abbreviation for the Canadian Union of Nationalist Treehuggers ;)
