If you're buying Ho Hos, Ding Dongs, and a Fruit pie...
Why are you buying a DIET COKE!?
I was just at the Convenience store. In front of me is a heavy set girl, spending her breakfast meal. On the counter was Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, a large bag of Cheetos, a fruit pie and A DIET COKE. Is this absurd only to me?
Oh, and FYI, I'm a fat girl, so I'm allowed to criticize, especially since I bought a Diet Coke with Lime and a Weight Watcher's Cereal Bar.

6. actually
the concentrated sugar in a regular coke is probably worse for your system than the fat in the burgers and fries. If you're going to be bad with fast food a diet soda is probably a good idea.

But if you're just buying a bunch of sugary stuff and then a diet soda you're just confused. Go all out, by a five pound bag of sugar and a funnel and get it over with.

3. To steal from their ad... "Just for the Taste of It"
Regular Coke tastes like a mix of malted battery acid and Karo Syrup!

plus... an added bonus for us computer geeks, Diet Coke doesn't get all sticky when spilled (no sugar, no sticky)

5. Maybe she was diabetic?
My husband is a type 1 (insulin-shot dependant) and will often need sweet food to bring his blood sugars up. Regular soda, however, would push his numbers through the ceiling -- for diabetics, it's like drinking pure glucose. So, he often picks up a Little Debbie or something along with his Diet Pepsi.

8. OH MY GOD...
...You're the first one to ever make a joke about this!! I've never heard a third-rate stand-up comedian do so even once. Do you have any observations for us about the ways in which men and women see things differently, or perhaps how white men dance?

10. Because when you are fat you get used to diet soda when
you're like 12 years old and you drink it for the rest of your life.

12. Just because she was having a bad breakfast...
-and maybe it's a common occurrence- doesn't mean it makes MORE SENSE for her to heap 150 more calories and 37 more carbs* on top of it all, each time.

*12 oz coke versus diet coke.

13. Might be dentist's orders
My husband has been ordered by our dentist to never drink regular soda again since it's done a number on his teeth over the years. He's kind of a soda junkie so the dentist said that if he MUST have a soda to go for diet because it's better for you.

14. You've put an awful lot of energy
...into what someone you don't know is eating. Is that your normal custom?

And why does being a fat girl (your words) allow you to criticize anyone? Anyone at all?

17. I do know her...
I just think that if you're fat and you're criticizing a fat person it's better than if I were Barely 100 pounds dripping wet talking about it. It a fat person is like WOW it must be bad.

19. Some people just like the taste of diet soda
Not me--I can't stand it. I'd rather have anything else before I would drink diet soda.

On the other hand, I like sweet-and-low in my tea and coffee because it dissolves better than sugar.
