Company names that make you go Huh
A local exercise equipment company apparently never spoke the name aloud before choosing it. I found out about them 'cause the owner (presumably) was so proud of it that he got a vanity tag with the name on it:
http://www.sorinex.com/
I got a million of 'em, but most slip my mind immediately after I see them. You?

2. Vibrascrew.
When I worked in Accounts Payable there was actually a company with that name. Guess no one ever said the name out loud to see how it sounded.

It's a regional convinience store chain, but somehow I never think of chips or soda when I see the sign.

23. Ah the Kum & Go, they really started uhh...popping up in Iowa City
in the last few years. One of my friends used to refer to it as the "Jizz and Split". Very appropriate for a college town.

If anyone's ever had to have a certain colon procedure, they may remember another product called Go-Lightly in not so fond terms.

7. Once upon a time
Mrs. Squeech worked for a company that did trademark research-- looked up names and titles to see whether anybody else was using it before trying to register it as a trademark or service mark.

One of her assignments was to work on the in-flight magazine of an airline that was the product of a merger between two old airlines. And one of the names that was suggested for the magazine was a cross between the two names of the two old magazines, Enterprise and Contrails.

So there she was, looking up business uses for the name Entrails.

The benefits of a liberal arts education.

10. "Sterile Concepts" Along I-95 Near Petersburg, VA
Great philosophers' joke. (A sterile concept is an idea that doesn't lead anywhere, like solipsism.)

And Jay Leno showed a photo of a small motel a few years a go that was called the "Passing Wind Motel." (I get the idea, but at least call it the "Passing Breeze" or something. Geez.)

16. We Have a Real Estate Company In Our Town Called "Exit"
They seem to only sell homes in our town of Jackson.

Which makes their name a very counterproductive imperative:

Exit Jackson.

18. Ham Produce and Seafood
you see their trucks all over Honolulu.

Makes you want to bring Letterman out here:

Dave: "Do you have any beef?"

driver: "No, just ham, produce and seafood."

Dave: "How about chicken? Have you got any chicken?"
