What drugs are you on?

And do you know the side effects - or are the side-effects the reason you're taking the drug? :evilgrin:

Seriously, I take otc zantac, sometimes otc claritan, and the plethora of whatever is crammed into diet sodas...

I also have a few ativans and percosets left over from surgery about a year ago, that I sometimes tap, and have thought about paxil from time to time - happiness for only a few minor seizures, how can I resist?

And my mom, my God, she takes a good bit of drugs, and whatever is crammed into Winston Lites...

So, what drugs are you on?

Is limited to 300mg of Effexor for social/general anxiety and depression and Nexium for acid reflux.

I take a Xanax for maybe on or two days in a row, once or twice a month, for any panic attacks/severe anxiety.

other than just being a really cool name for a drug, this is one I have used to take the edge off once or twice myself. I must say I liked the effect.

I don't see anything wrong with "taking a break" from the utter chaos that is modern life. I didn't mean to imply that using medications ease anxiety or depression, etc, is in any way f***ed up. I have, and occasionally still do. A close look at the world in which we live is justification enough.

And then there's the whole drug-induced euphoria effect that many seem to detest, but again, I have no problem with. What the hell is wrong with feeling euphoric?

to control the overabundance of acid, prednisone to boost my system, 3 months on 3 months off of Cipro for same system, and Darvocet or Vicodin when the pain gets too bad.

With a side trip to an Alka-Seltzer after a good Burrito.

to Canada to get it at hefty price, or order from a compounding pharmacy,not covered by insurance.. Our copay on prescriptions is $50, so we pay about a car payment a month on the stuff...Sigh.

I have pretty bad anxiety problems and have been diagnosed as having ADHD before (Thom Hartmann pretty much showed me that it isn't a burden).

Been on:

Zolaft (acid reflux)
Busparin (only helpful Rx drug I ever took)
Paxil (couldn't ... 'climax')

Had Ritaline mentioned, refused it.

Anyways, when I had my political awakening I realized that to take Rx drugs was to give money to shitty people. So I stopped.

My ADHD is fine, seems to let me read books at a better rate :), though I still have the anxiety problems and break out in cold sweats (I'll sweat, be like 'oh shit, im sweating like a pig', get nervous and sweat more... christ) over the most absurd things, and am nervous in most social situations involving people I don't already know. But eh, love it.

My doctor had inadvertently (sp?) cut a vein (in an embarrassing part of my bod) and wound up in the hospital with a blood-loss issue to be corrected. The day after the surgery, the nurse brought in some meds, including welbutrin. I asked why I was recieving this drug, and she said the doc thought I might be depressed. I refused to take it, despite her insistence. I was only there two days to repair damage (wrongly done to me). I had lost some blood, but I could not believe this doc who sewed up a cut vein decided in that short amount of time that I should be on some anti-depressant. Wasn't like he'd given me the drug after an office discussion of my "issues" or anything - this was completely out of the blue. I even stopped taking the multi-vitamin they started bringing right after I said no to the welbutrin. I mean, wtf was that all about?

I can't imagine how Wellbutrin can be useful in that situation.

Yeah, I the paxil problem, too.

Switched to Celexa with Wellbutrin and all's well. In fact, Wellbutrin makes orgasms incredible.

Paxil sucked - the first three days I was on it I was a nervous wreck - literally. Tremors, anxiety, fear... much worse than the symptoms it was supposed to address.

Now, I'm on Toprol and Pravachol for a stupid heart problem. And Trazodone for occasional insomnia - best drug ever.

I'm unemployed, but keeping my insurance up through COBRA. Otherwise, it would be about fifteen hundred dollars a month. Side effects? I've lost about forty pounds in the past six months, my hair is thinning, I don't get depressed so much as I just seem to "feel" things stronger. And my skin is drying out and blowing away. But I'm healthy, in a manner of speaking, and the drugs are doing what they're supposed to. Another six months and I get to quit.

I'm on Armour Thyroid for hypothyroidism, Advair diskus for asthma, Allegra D for allergies, Effexor for the hypothyroidism induced depression and anxiety, Lamisil for a fungus infection and a topical cortisteroid/anti-fungal combo for a skin condition. Oops, I forgot my low dosage birth control pills (Miracet).

I also on occasion have to take Zovirax, Prevacid and Albuteral. I take L-Lysine supplements as well as a special vitamin mixture specifically designed for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and hypothyroidism that is chock-full of B vitamins, anti-oxidants and amino acids.

My body's a regular drugstore these days. :-)

on edit: I forgot Patanol drops for my eyes and my prescription only acne medication (the name escapes me at the moment). Luckily, I only use those as needed, so it's not such a burden.

Tolinase, Lopid, Cozaar, Lasix, Actos, Elavil (migraines), Buspar (crazy), Albuterol, Atrovent, Q-Var, Flexeril, Vicodin - I take these daily for diabetes, non-diabetic advanced kidney disease, migraine, asthma, anxiety, numerous tendon/nerve injuries in right arm and ovarian cysts which fucking hurt. None are for side-effects of any drugs.

Imitrex, Maxalt, Fiorinal, Phenergan, Hydroxyzine - as needed. Have been needing the Phenergan a lot lately. The first three are for migraines; the last two for pruritis (itching) and nausea from kidney disease.

Don't take a damn thing for birth control - I've had a tubal ligation and an endometrial ablation! Yay!

with Omega 3.

Well, maybe since ShrubCo can't control it and the AARP. Pfizer and Lilly had a lot to say however.

So I take for asthma:
Albuteral
Flovent
Serevent(All are Inhalers)

Flovent is a steroid so I get Steroid side effects

And I also take for depression:
Paxil 37.5 mg.

Causes impotence for a short time:(

I take it to control panic attacks. It's not really a drug but it works for me better than a prescription drug would without side-effects or dependency.
