1. i tell people this a lot
people except veggi/vegan alternatives to be gross.

but there is pretty much no difference at all in taste between soy milk and cow milk. soy milk is a bit richer. why people still drink hormone laden milk meant for cows is beyond me.

6. try Silk
maybe you can't drink milk because you know it was suctioned out of a cow. soy milk is really good.

8. You won't get sick
I can't stand the stuff and rarely drink it.
(once every couple of years to make sure I still don't like it)

It makes me feel like I have 90 weight oil in my veins.

5. <nod> Well, I'm not of the opinion that they're
all bland, but TBH, I've just really started using them to any major extent recently, mostly tofu and soy milk, and this soy taco exceeded my expectations heheh

13. I do like the substitutes,
but they give me the worst gas in the universe. :hurts: Seriously. My wife made me tofu lasagne once, and my coworker threatened her with severe bodily harm if she ever did it again.

:D

Seriously though, Tofurky sliced "meat" is good, as is Quorn brand "meat"(they make the best flavored hot dogs). Lightlife, Gardenburger, Morningstar, and Yves are a few other makers of soy meat. Flavor and texture have come a looooooong way over the past few years.:)

18. Thanks for the tip
I've seen it in the store but haven't gotten it yet. I've been experimenting a LOT over the last few months and have come up with a few dishes where you absolutely cannot tell the meat is fake. My spaghetti with "meat" sauce is absolutely awesome. I use this:

So far though, my experiments with "meat"-balls has been less than successful. I'm using half "pork" sausage and half "hamburger." I might try the taco meat instead of the "pork" and see if that turns out better.

I don't consider myself a vegetarian, but I figure wherever you can cut down on meat is more healthy. Besides, so far I'm having a lot of fun eperimenting.
