Why are *non-MAC users* still using Internet Explorer or Outlook Express?
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 09:20 AM by SHRED
They are buggy and vulnerable to hacking, spy ware, trojans, pop-ups, etc....

I switched to Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird, all free, and I am not looking back!!!

1. and the jpeg backdoor exploit, which is said to not be cureable.
Hoisted by their own petard.

WHile I don't condone hackers, don't expect me to give Microsoft any sympathy.

2. You are making progress, but
the next step is to move to Mac OS X or Linux. If you use Firefox and Thunderbird, it won't be such a big shock.

4. OSX and Safari works perfectly for me!
Safari blocks pop-ups automatically and is very stable.

BTW, for you Mac people, have you checked out DEVONthink for archiving web pages? I use it constantly - it's great for people like me with ADD/memory issues.

5. I AM a Mac user, and
I use Safari and Mail, not any of those silly Microsoft Web products--except for Office, which I unfortunately need to use to ensure compatibility with my PC-using clients.

I used Entourage (part of Office) for mail for a time, but it kept losing my mailboxes and reverting to its initial state, whereupon I had to go into the depths of the computer and get them back.

6. I like IE
That's all. I've tried the others, and I still like IE.

I don't like tabbed browsing, which is the main selling point for the other browsers, apparently. And I've been using IE for over 4 years, with no hacking at all. No popups, either.

Why do you care? Once everyone moves to Mozilla, it'll be hacked. Or if they all move over to OSX, it'll be hacked. Hackers go after the most popular program.

Haven't used OE in years, though. I use Agent for news and mail.

9. Sheesh
That has to be one of the <comment self-deleted so as not to hurt feelings> things I have heard in weeks.
