I take delight in flouting the established rules of superstition: refusing to toss spilt salt over my shoulder, for example. I worked closely with an ultra-superstitious fellow once; I drove him crazy, telling him things like, 'did you see that bird that flew into the window?' or picking up coins that I had already placed strategically 'tails up' - bad juju in his opinion.

9. I'm superstitious when it comes to sports

In high school, before every basketball game, I would have to eat banana bread with peanut butter and whipped cream, or a baloney sandwich with whipped cream. Always the whipped cream.

Now I believe golf tees with my name on are lucky - especially red ones.
