Getting Flack for my pro-Kerry Halloween Decorations
Every year my wife and I put up a mock graveyard on our front lawn. We have an old iron fence and four headstones. We usually make up funny poems for the headstones, as we did this year on three of them.
On the fourth headstone we wrote "RIP - The Bush Presidency"

Several neighbors have called to complain about it. Of course we have had a Kerry sign in our yard since the spring (though it has been taken a few times), so I don;t know why they are surprised. I drove the headstone into the ground with rebar and it will probably take 10 minutes to get it out of the ground, so I am not expecting it to be stolen.

I don't care about the complaints, but a cute little girl who lives on our block said to my wife and I last night, "You're democrats, yuck!" She said it with such a look of disgust and anger that I was surprised. I don't think I knew what a democrat or republican was in the 3rd grade. They start the brainwashing early I guess.

Anyway, the graveyard looks great and we are keeping it up. Lets hope it proves true.

7. I am so bad
I am the anti-tech. I don't own a digital camera, and even if I did I don't think I could figure out how to download an image let alone post one. If my sister comes up before Halloween I'll see if she can help me post it online.

Sorry.

4. A fine line but as long as it isn't threatening to the POTUS it should be
okay

But don't be surprsised if someone calls the cops on you. I'm just saying.

6. I thought about that
I'd never threaten the President. I don;t wish any harm to him or his family, I just hope and pray that his presidency dies on Nov 2. I think I'm okay, but I'm prepared to deal with any complaints.

5. Hey mj--
I think you're graveyard sounds awesome! We're having an all-liberals Halloween party here, with lots of our Dallas DUers attending.

I'm planning the whole party around anti-conservative stuff.

I've got the same graveyard thing going (Isn't PVC and re-bar a wonderful combo?). One of the tombstones I'm planning on putting up is "Lee Atwater....In Hell....." and having one of those half-torsos in the ground in thrift store business wear, looking tortured and hellbound.

Many more decorations abound. I'll be posting pix after the event on October 30th.

Ignore these idiots. The brainwashing starts early with them; that's why we have to teach our kids to be decent, kind, non-greedy human beings.

Keep the faith!

9. Nice manners they're teaching that little girl
:eyes: Clearly her parents care about cultivating friendly relations with the neighbors, if they're brainwashing her to say that.
