Scooter. Must. Die.
Scooter, for those of you fortunate enough to have not seen this atrocity, is this small animated baseball that Fox uses to show how pitches move. "A curveball breaks down and away from a right-handed batter." Not such a bad idea, right?

Well, no, except that it's done in that special Fox way that annoys the living hell out of anyone with half a functioning brain. It has the most annoying voice you could imagine, complete with all the sound effects that you just can't get enough of during the game </sarcasm>.

I hate that damn thing. Somebody, please get MLB away from Fox.

3. If you don't know what a curveball or fastball is
You shouldn't be watching baseball. End of story.

5. my roommate likes scooter..
he says he wouldn't know what any of those pitches were if not for Scooter. Of course, he has been living in an alcohol induced stupor for most of his adult life, and is going through his "wonder years" in his late 30's. I usually just ignore him when he says stupid shit like that.

8. the CGI First Down and Scrimmage markers are okay-
but that blue dot they started putting on the puck during hockey games a few years backm is ridiculous.

9. The tracer was a wretched idea.
I'm not a hockey fan, but if it's on in the background or something, it's hard to watch, with the zippy blue line.

I do like the first-down marker, though. Maybe because it's not moving.

He thanked him for showing how a curve ball works.

15. Except that it's not actually a curveball
What he's describing is more of a slurve - a proper curveball breaks almost straight downward - if you were looking at a clock, from 12 o'clock to about 6. I'd rather hear announcers just call those 'breaking balls', but that's another debate entirely.

:)

14. "Mussina, due to timing, has not won a ring with the Yankees yet"
-Joe Buck last night.

Buck and McCarver openly root for the Yankees. See Mussina has won a ring with the Yanks "yet" because

THEY HAVEN'T WON THE SERIES IN THE LAST THREE YEARS!!!

It has nothing to do with "timing".

Sorry off subject but God does that annoy me.

19. i can tell you don't care for him
should we start a McCarver "Hate" Club? What a complete and utter moron. I always figured that a baseball color-man would know something about baseball...but he is just...well...ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!

And his hair sucks, too. Worst color job since Reagan...
