Doctor Says Disorder Makes Patients Have Sex During Sleep
Doctor Says Disorder Makes Patients Have Sex During Sleep

POSTED: 8:57 am EDT October 14, 2004

CANBERRA, Australia -- An Australian doctor said one of his patients has a disorder that led her to have sex with strangers while she slept.

The doctor tells The Sydney Morning Herald that the middle-aged woman would later have no recollection of her activities.

It wasn't until her partner woke, discovered she was missing from the bedroom, and found her having sex with another man that she discovered what she was doing.

The doctor will discuss the case at a meeting this weekend. He told an Australian radio station that "people are often stunned and overwhelmed" when they find out what's been happening.

When you get caught PRETEND you're really sleeping and don't have a clue what's going on! This sounds like Quackery to me.

4. Oh, yeah, I had that, too.
Yep. Wasn't diagnosed, but ... I'm sure that's what it was. :)

Seriously, though, is this possible? It seems so strange!

Of course the man she was having sex with just happened to be this doctor that the story is about...lol.

7. My ex had something like that!
My last boyfriend had a sleep disorder similiar to that, in which he would try to have sex when he was asleep and have no memory of it -- but with bed partners, not strangers.

The first time it happened it totally freaked me out. I woke to find him climbing ontop of me, grabbing my girlie bits, and his eyes were open but he was NOT home. He paid no attention to my "get off me" so I had to fight him off, and then he rolled over and went back to "sleep". The next day I was furious and demanded to know what that was all about. He said it was just something he did in is sleep and that his other girlfriends had found it "romantic".

Over the course of our relationship it happened every couple of months, ususally more when he was stressed out. He would sometimes get so violent with his sexual advances I would literally have to punch him repeatedly to get him off of me. That's what was so disturbing about it - his aggression. It actually frightened me.
