that's it, i give up on cats!
well, not actually. my house is teeming, but i've been supporting several strays outside, also (not to mention my colonies). tonight, 1 of the outies approached me whilst feeding doggies. sweet tuxedo, a burlyboy, but clearly hungry. another male has been driving him off the feedstation; i've heard the brawls @ night.

he's sequestered in my bathroom now, will go for testing/neutering in the a.m.

i keep ordering myself to release him when he's done, but he let me p/him up w/o a fuss, & has been very well behaved & lovey when i visit w/him. clearly a domestic. will be oh-so-hard to turn him out...

2. not a wuss.. very kind hearted
to take in another cat. I hope it all works out for you. I think I know kinda how you feel. You find this adorable creature, its sweet and beautiful and even though you have enough already, how can you turn away from this little bundle of love? Keep him if you can, or at least just be his foster parent until you can find him a home.

3. cats can be very weird
and snotty. but they are fabulously truthful. You always know where you stand with a cat!

4. it's hard to order them out... if he can adjust to the other
in-cats, and they to him after he's declared healthy and fixed, why not?

I talked to you a while back, jukes, about my semi-feral before I moved; I left her there, but only because the new homeowners said they'd feed her (she also took off and I couldn't catch her even after 3 weeks - she left just as we started to pack and never came back in the garage); I've talked to the new homeowners several times and they've said she stops by every evening for meals, and they're building her a 2-story insulated kitty house for the winter (they have 4 indoor cats and my semi-feral baby just isn't real good with people. I have decided that when my husband and I caught her when she was pregnant (a 3 day ordeal - she crammed herself in the farthest corner of the garage and would not come out) we just scared the living shit out of her and possibly destroyed any trust she might have developed in humans). I feel horrible and guilty on a daily basis, but there is no place safe for her where we are now, and the new homeowners are cat lovers and she's being fed and offered affection (and is still living in the same place she was born, is familiar with, etc), so I at least can stifle the urge to fling myself off a cliff ...

Anyway, 'nuff about me. Keep the tux, why not? I know you are a cat lover / cat rescuer, so if one more won't sink the ship and he fits in might as well, you know?

the newboy will be named james, i think, & has a new home as long as he doesn't have 1 of the terrible ailments.

6. thanks, jukes...
for the kind words. Leaving her there goes against everything I ever thought I was or believed in... not easy but I guess you just do the best you can.

Good luck with James, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed he's a healthy boy!
