Did anyone watch "AMERICAN DREAMS" last night??
The reason I'm asking is to find out if anyone knows the song that that guitarist was singing to Beth (JJ Pryor's pregnant fiancee). The voice sounded like James Taylor's (dubbed in). Does anyone know if this is a James Taylor song and if so is it available on any of his existing CDs? It was such a beautiful song.

2. American Dreams
The guitarist is James Taylor's son. I don't remember his name but I did read that we was going to be on for a few episodes. When you watch American Dreams do you think it is making a political statement? I think DUers should watch it.

4. I definitely think it's making a very political statement
Can't miss next week when Meg's play turns into a protest about the war (substitute Iraq for Vietnam and it's quite timely).

7. And what about all the questionable election crap going on.
How suddenly the buses for taking black voters to their polling places were unavailable.

8. Exactly
This show and West Wing are they only things I bother watching on NBC anymore.

I just wish people today were as determined to vote as they were last night on the show. That and back then, you didn't have Diebold stealing your votes.

9. But Historically Innacurrate
Based on the songs featured in last night's episode (such as "Double Shot of My Baby's Love" by the Swinging Medallions), that episode took place in 1966.

Dick Clark moved American Bandstand to Los Angeles during the Summer of 1963, and went to a Saturday-only schedule. (When it was broadcast from Philly, it was Monday thru Friday).

Being as Dick Clark is Executive Producer of this series, I don't understand why they persist in this charade....

3. According to NBC's website
It's by Ben Taylor (who I am assuming to be James Taylor's son). It's an original song called "Surround Me" by the Ben Taylor Band due out on their debut album in February 2005.

I love this show.

5. Thank you all.
I can't believe that I have to wait until February to buy that CD. Dammit!!! Oh well, hopefully we'll have a new president by then as well.
