Can people here help with the following message board:
It is about 3:1 right vs left and the right there needs to learn that they are dead wrong. It is just so incredible how polarized this country is. I mean these morons really truly believe they are correct and it befuddles intelligent people. Even more befuddling is the fact that some of the right wingers there are not entirely stupid, but extremely misguided. I guess when a right winger is reasonably intelligent, it is strongly indicative of being autistically unempathetic for others - especially if they are not simultaenously white and American (or an unborn baby). Many of the right wigners there have been in the military at one time or another. Here is the message board:

1. No, here's why
I'm tired of holding the hands of idiots trying to teach them to walk.

Fuck em.

2. Tolerance begins at home.

The way to win people over to our side is with steady strong logic and let them sort out their own cognitive dissonance. Calling others names, even on our "home" is not a way to win anyone over. Not everyone will agree with us, but if we can keep the debate reasoned and civil there is a much better chance of compromise.

EDIT:
Along those lines, DON'T blow your cool at them, that shows a weak hand. Stay focused on the point(s) at hand and they will see how nuts they are acting by "looking in the mirror".

3. Trust me...
I always remain very cool...I do exactly as you say to do...we just need more support. I have not posted for a while since I am on the road. There is no reaching them though. It is hopeless. They have no sympathy for the deaths of anyone that is not American. None whatsoever.

4. Good to hear it.
Sometimes we have to fight the good fight, realize that we have done the best we can and move on. I agree that it is sad that others cannot so much as search for common ground on issues, nor show the slightest bit of humanity for those NOT similar to them, but such is their way. I have had to just move along with friends and family on political issues many times. It sucks, it really does because we are well reasoned people who believe in open and free debate, while others have a mantra and they are interested in peddling it to whomever they come in contact with. That is why I dislike the religious zealots who identify themselves as "conservative" as well as idealogues like Cheney, Rummy, Nussle (Rep from Iowa-1, I refer to him as Muzzle) and Santorum (aka Sanatarium).

Although I disagree with them politically folks like Bob Dole and his ilk are at least respectful enough to listen to all sides.

For sanity's sake, I would just stay off that board. Until Kerry wins and you can gloat, then run!

5. trust me i have failed
the most you can do is make them agree you are a somewhat flawed being for having liberal veiws,i've tryed everthing short of bribery to convert dorkwingers..In 40 years all i've been able to to is have civil relationships with boundrys about politics with conservatives i know,it's hard work. when they change they make for great free thinkers. When a liberal goes to the right,it's something personal like getting dumped or finding out they really are a dorkus. It's all about conditioning, comfort and familly that keeps thier thing together, not wanting to explore the outside or inside.
