I remember Jon's first show back after 9/11 and him breaking down as he talked about what happened in his city, and how it was a genuinely moving TV moment.

Doing a show on 9/11 just didn't seem right. He even came out and said he didn't want to be there, but fuck it, lets do this.

At least he didn't have a guest, there's no one who would have been appropriate, but you can tell from the segment they chose to rerun instead of having a guest that the whole crew must have shared Jon's wish to not have to work today.

Maybe its me but I think asking a comedy show based in NYC to do a show on 9/11 was a bit cold.

3. I think the point was well articulated...
...we, as Americans, are doing a lot of repression...

And the "cut and paste" historical revisionism was so appropriate.

4. Best Thing on TV All Day
Jon Stewart is one of the best, if not the best, and classiest journalists working today. The show was exactly right. Telling the truth over and over again is important, and Jon Stewart didn't get sidetracked with a maudlin show, as every other fucking news program did today.
