Has anyone used broadband telephone?

I'm looking into Vonage.

1. I used Net2Phone.

It sucked royally. The rates were great, but the quality was lousy, even with a headset. It was like using a radio telephone aboard an ocean liner. The worst part was the delay; I felt like I had to say "over" after every sentence.

I only used it because my mobile company (I ditched my landline) wouldn't let me call overseas, where my Dad and brothers live. Now I just call them from work. :)

I don't know anything about Vonage, though. I'd do a little Web research first. (Which, come to think of it, is what you're doing now!)

3. The New Voice-over-IP Are Supposed to be Better

than the old ones.

Internet services like Net2Phone are not good quality. The early broadband ones didn't have the sampling needed for a good voice connection. I have not used them, but I understand that the new ones are greatly improved -- not sure if this includes Vonage.
