Okay after posting a negative rant I thought I'd share with you my tactics for getting out the vote for Kerry.
1. If you are a college student get involved with your local Young Democrats club or other leftist groups and have screenings of "Going Upriver"
Make copies of this movie and pass them out.
If you cannot find a way to secure a room for a screening of this movie, set up a laptop in a good spot and get a couple of decent speakers and just play the movie somewhere on your mall.
I do this and it always draws all sorts of curious people. Of course it's hard to view the movie, but the sound is what initially gets their attention, then after a little while offer to give out a burnt copy of the movie.
Of course you don't have to be a college student to make use of this great movie.
Arrange socials or parties to view this movie. Give a copy to your library.
2.
Place the IAFF Firefighters for Kerry signs in Republican areas.
This is good for two reasons:
1. Republicans typically aren't about to rip down or disrespect a sign that was made possible by brave firefighters.
2. It gets those Republicans thinking "hmm how is it that firefighters are supporting Kerry..?"
It makes them ask questions it makes them ponder...something they clearly don't do enough of.
3.
If you attend church print out fliers which give stats of our dead and civilian deaths asking "Is This Pro-Life?"
Show the facts get it out there, I mean not everyone who attends church who may be voting for Bush can be terminally brain-dead.
Especially if you attend a church with lots of minorities who otherwise dislike Bush they just think they'll burn if they vote for a pro-choice candidate.
4.
One rule I typically follow when engaging Republicans who are "soft" Republicans is that it must be mentioned why Kerry is tougher on terror than Bush could ever hope to be.
Typically these Republicans have drank the kool-aid and they think Kerry is a pussy and would be soft on fighting terrorists.
Point out Kerry's background as a prosecutor, his role in Iran-Contra, his role in busting up the BCCI.
You mention this stuff then ask what in Bush's past and even future shows him as being tough on terra?
Clearly Kerry looks like Superman next to idiot-boy Bush when it comes to fightin terra when the facts come out in plain view.
Also don't forget to mention the fact that Saddam HATED Bin Laden, and in invading Iraq we have just won the Iran-Iraq war for Iran, a terrorist sponsoring nation, and Americans are dying daily.
What's Bin Laden got to be upset about knowing that?
Overall at this point stick to the message as to why Kerry is right for America NOT why Bush is bad.
It is better we stick to that message in my opinion at this point in the process as it ensures that we a great candidate, which we do, and that he is the man for the job.
Welp that's enough for now.
