Even the Yankees can't win it every year. You want to know what sucks? Try being a Reds fan like me. Or, hell, imagine the Astros. Never been and got oh so close only to have the bottom fall out.
But I've seen more brand new 'B' hats walking around campus and in the city...I fucking HATE fair weather/band-wagon fans, regardless of team. Plus, I'm a sore loser. I admit it :)
the Yankees/Red Sox series was just so compelling that I think a lot of people who normally wouldn't be interested got into it. I think you'll see more interest build in the World Series as we go along.
10. As a Yankees fan in the 50's and 60's, I think current Yankee fans
should be really excited for Boston's chance at finally lifting the "Curse of the Bambino" crap after 84 years of Boston fans punishing themselves over squat. Cheer the Red Sox on to win one for the ages, which will go a long way towards relieving the resentment between the Sox and the Yanks. Rivalry's jes' fine - the resentment's what's killing people's spirits. This is the year of the Red Sox - us ol' Yank fans have had more than our fair share of the sunlight. Let's share and share alike.
