two computer questions
-My personal computer is being screwy again. It won't start up except in safe mode. This happened a few months ago and I brought it into to be repaired, I was told some spyware was screwing things up. So I'm wondering how I can locate spyware in safe mode so I could possibly remove it and fix this myself.

-My friend is at home now and he can't access a certain site he could while away. It simply doesn't load, and he has all firewalls disabeled. Any possibility what's up?

1. If you have spyware removal software installed, does it
run in safemode?

If not, can you boot in safemode with networking so you can download spyware removal software?

Many more ideas here but I don't want to inundate you with questions.

:hi:

2. I have scanning software, but don't know if it runs
and I can't connect to the internet in safe mode.

4. My first move would be to run the scanning software and see if
a) it runs
b) it helps

Where are you posting from, btw?

3. I had this happen to me a couple days ago.
It wasn't spyware though, it was some weird files that were on my computer. I ran ScanDisk and it deleted the files, and now my computer runs fine. You could try that.
