Civ2 Players

I finally won an Emperor level game!

I've been playing on Prince level for a while, and decided to jump to King. I won several in a row, so thought I'd try Emperor. It was tough, but I did it.

Woo hoo!

I'm going to win a few more before I try Deity, though.

2. CIV3 is much harder

IN CIV3, I can't even come close to winning on the middle levels... they must have increased the AI. It seems if you make even one mistake, the opponent takes an advantage that you end up never overcoming... I have wasted many hours of my life on that game! but I still enjoy it.

4. yes - Civ 2 can be very stupid

at lower/mid levels.

Civ 3 gives you a run no matter where you are (except maybe the first level). It was much stronger overall...

5. It's interesting how complex the game is.

I used to think it was stupid, how they just made certain aspects harder at more difficult levels. But then I really got into it and it changed the dynamics of the game in very interesting ways.

6. yup

It's just different, rather than stupidly harder (i.e. AI cheats, etc.).

For instance, you have to really trim down what wonders you go for. I think I only had 8 Wonders on the last game I played. I used to get all but 4 or 5 of them down on Prince level.

Civ3...I love a lot of the new concepts, but I just can't get into the interface for some reason. I guess I'll try it again soon.
