A favor to ask Red Sox fans.
If your team finally wins another World Series after such an ungodly amount of time, would you please put your karma into rooting for the Chicago White Sox? Not only have we gone longer than Boston in terms of winning a series, we haven't won a pennant since 1959. 1959, folks. We hadn't even landed on the MOON yet. We have a relatively small payroll and play in a city where the North Siders outdraw us even if we have the best record in the A.L. and the Cubs couldn't beat the Bad News Bears. If you agree to do this, Red Sox fans, I will even congratulate your team, something I'm loathe to do because I have little sympathy for a team that has enough moolah to get Schilling, Martinez and Ramirez. :)

2. It's 1919!
Cripes, man. Al Capone wasn't even an important figure yet. We're waay past that.

12. Settle down Jack, it was only a joke
Back in the '60s and early '70s, I used to say that the Reds only won two in history, and one of them was fixed. It doesn't sound so good to say they only won 5 in history but... BTW the Reds don't get there very often either but do you know they have won their last 9 WS games?

3. Now, now
We certainly don't want to get into a discussion of the number of play-off appearances of the White Sox and Cubs respectively, do we?

4. Yeah, but people actually LIKE the Cubs.
The White Sox get about as much attention as the Hartford Whalers. :)

11. I have always wondered about that
None of my White Sox friends can explain it, either. Hopefully the Red Sox are the start of the breaking of ALL of our curses. Starting with Bunnypants!

PS~Will the Big Hurt still be with them next year?

5. I can do that.
My Tampa Bay Bucs won the Super Bowl. My Bosox will win the Series in 4. I can send some of the karma your way because my life has attained nirvanha.

6. It's different for the White Sox, they deserve their curse
The Red Sox just made a mistake in selling Ruth, but the White Sox committed an act of egregious dishonesty in 1919 for which they must continue to be punished.

8. For eighty years?
It was only some of their players, for Chrissake, and there's even good indicators not all of the eight who took money tried to throw the games. How this makes them more "deserving" of losing in a sport where many of the players use steroids or are self-effacing jerks (see Perdo Martinez) is beyond me. :)

7. As long as y'all beat the Yankees in the play-offs...
I'll root for any team from Chicago.

9. Jack, You Have My Promise
If the (Red) Sox win the series, I will unhesitatingly throw my support either of the Chi-town teams (unless they happen to oppose the my dear home-town team in the next series (and even then, well, who knows... ).

I was feverishly hoping for a Cubs - Red Sox World Series last year. Unfortunately it didn't happen (although it might have meant the end of the world was neigh).
