I always joke around that unlike my right wing friends, I will not wish you ill if you do not share the same views as I do. Unfortunately that is not always a joke in the case of some bloodthirsty right-wingers. Apparently there was a former CIA agent and ambassador that went to Nigeria to find out if the Iraqis did indeed seek uranium for weapons of mass destruction. Now this gentleman, Joe Wilson, had concluded that this was an outright lie put out by the administration to justify the war and went from being a Bush supporter to a Kerry supporter subsequently.

Republicans subsequently were then out to get their revenge.

His wife was a CIA agent working in Iraq for our government. At least two members of the Bush administration leaked her name.* Of course the CIA is investigating this as I write, because endangering the life of an agent is not only unpatriotically sinister but I believe is the same as threatening someone's life when done deliberately. I also must add that this undermines any operation done by an ambassador's loved one and now every one of them is suspect in all countries.



It also goes to the heart of the matter that the war was not about national security but the self –serving purposes of politicians. But then again according to declassified information Prescott (George Bush senior’s father) Bush's bank was seized by the US government for dealing with the Nazis. Oh yeah, he was also a Senator here in Connecticut. I guess the oil doesn't drip too far from the well.
