What I'm Doing For My Birthday (Today!)

I turned 49 today. Here's my agenda for the day:

1. Take my daily 5-mile walk (done)
2. Take the family to the Paris Hotel on the Strip and eat some not-too-bad FRENCH-style food
3. Try to hit the Dean meet-up in town at 2PM (depends on the family)
4. Get my ass kicked by my son on some PS 2 game that he rented
5. Watch that George Clooney movie about the Gong Show guy that I rented yesterday
6. Open a nice bottle of wine with the wife
7. Sit in the jacuzzi and wonder when I'm ever going to get a job in the bush economy (but be happy that we sold our home this year and have some $ to fall back on)
8. Listen to some low-key classical music
9. Avoid watching ALL cable news for the day
10. Hit the hay and ruminate on how lucky I am to have a great family, good friends...and a place like DU to keep me sane!

I am in liberal lotus land reading the books my wife (Nell) gave me for my birthday. I am starting with Franken, then on to Krugman, and for desert, I will read Conason. Happy birthday to us! :party: :toast:
