What a clever headline
BURIEN - Not once, but twice, thieves have broken into the Burien Medical Center offices of Dr. Arnold Pollak, a cardiologist that keeps a variety of drug samples in his medical cabinet.
"Here's where we had it," says Pollak opening the cabinet. What thieves took on two separate occasions in October were not the high priced prescription drugs like Lipitor, but Viagra, Cialis and Levitra -- the three popular erectile dysfunction drugs.
"Lipitor is certainly a very expensive medicine, but they actually bypassed those and went to those particular medicines for whatever reason," says Pollack. They also bypassed new computers and office equipment.
He estimates thieves stole 150 samples he gives out to patients who want to try out the drugs, and rolls of postal stamps. Each pill is worth approximately $10 at a pharmacy.
