3. I voted early and still waited in line
It took about ten minutes total to get through. I lingered around at the machine though trying to stretch it out at long as possible, savoring the moment.

5. 15 minutes but thats about 13 minutes longer than normal
time in this small, lightly populated rural county in south Mississippi. Hard for me to imagine that my coinhabitants down here are turning out big for Kerry, but that would be really something for me to Crow about tomorrow.

6. 2 hrs 45 mins here in Columbus Ohio...
in an overwhelming Democratic precinct. Packed to the gills! Everybody I talked to said they'd wait all day if need be.

9. Less than 10 minutes
I was surprised. There were more people voting than usual, but there was no line for my precinct's machine. I only had to wait for the woman tending the machine to finish cooing over a little girl in the next line over. I think it helped that I went to vote around 11 AM -- after the morning crowd but before the lunchtime crowd.

It took longer to get my voter registration card from my wallet. There was nobody in line in front of me and only 1 person who came in after me.

No waiting at 10:30 AM. Optical scan ballots - well staffed. Bet it's not like that in Phoenix.

21. two minutes
but it was 10 am before I went to poll watch. That's what it usually is, but the folks there said that there was a line before 7 am! And there is rarely a line at my polling place. It is about time there are lines! There should be!

23. About 20-30 min.
There was a line, and then the people in front of me had some funky issue and had to fill out paper work, which they did while continuing to stand in line in front of me. Once I got to the desk, it took about 5 min.

However, our precinct is having HIGH turnout and is over 75% registered Democrats.

30. About 10 minutes
Michigan, metro Detroit area.

It wasn't very busy at the polls - I went after lunch - and everybody was extremely helpful.

It was my first time voting too, so I was a little freaked out. But I went for it!

31. Walked right in
We voted at 4 pm. There were a couple people voting and no line. We figured that voting earlier in the evening helped. We didn't want to vote close to the polls closing. This is an early type place with restaurants and such closing earlier than 8 pm if they have no customers. I was afraid the same thing would happen with voting.

What I saw at my polling place was very promising.

Lots of young voters and voters who said they never voted before.

37. I didn't have any wait at all, but I was lucky
There were long lines at the polls, but everyone was either in the A-G line or the H-Q line. The R-Z line had nobody in it, so much to the chagrin of everyone else, I was in and out in about two minutes.

40. 15 Minutes
... counting the walk to the convenience store to buy a cup of coffee, chatting with at least 15 of my neighbors on the way to the poll, checking in, voting, checking out, and walking home. After I voted, I even helped some of my new elderly neighbors find their way to the poll for the first time in their new neighborhood.

This is the third time I've voted in this Boston neighborhood, and I just love it. I live in a high-rise just a few blocks from the poll, and I always see many of my neighbors on the way to and from. There is always a sense of patriotic pride in out citizens doing their civic duties. The poll itself is always very well organized, and the line moves very quickly. I've never had to wait for more than two people in front of my to go through the process. I can hardly believe what I hear about other polls around the country, where the lines are hours long! The check-in is easy and friendly, and the volunteers are great. If I didn't have to work, I would spend the day there as a volunteer myself.
