I was just chatting in a Yahoo games forum
And I realized who all the Bush voters were. The evangelicals and the hardcores are just a small percentage. The vast majority are just regular people who can't be bothered to look at anything past the Bush talking points. Why the HELL is the GOP so much better at spinning than the DLC?

2. Appealing to people's baser instincts of hatred of the other
who does not look or worship as they do, is much easier. It is easier to appeal to emotions rather than reason. Notice Bush, even though he attended elite schools and on paper would be considered well educated, speaks in short sentences with few words more than one or two syllables.

When Kerry speaks people know they are going to be there awhile. He can't seem to manage the concept of brevity.

3. I think I know why.
But tonight is not the night to bring it up. I will likely share in the days ahead.

Let's just say that we were very close, at one point, to some important changes being made. I suspect that we will be seeing those changes being made in the days ahead.

Please note: This is not me talking shit I don't know.

Think: Deficiencies. Identified and patched over. Perhaps the patches were not enough.

4. I gotta tell you about my 'other' father
70, not prejudiced, not a fundy..."Why did John Kerry attack Dick Cheney's daughter for being a lesbian?" Of course I set him straight but this is what the casual American observer hears, the Rovian talking points.

5. Psyops.
The GOP uses your tax money to mess up your mind.

CNN has been caught harbouring psyops interns,
and you wonder why every office in the Pentagon is tuned to CNN.
Professional courtesy, that's why.

6. lies. lies. lies.
Lies are easy to tell, and they have to be refuted.

Not only that, but Republicans tell comfortable lies.

"Things are great in Iraq"

"The economy is doing very well and is very strong"

"most of my tax cuts go to the middle class"

Its all bullshit, but it works.

The more something is repeated, the more true it seems.
