This morning started very upbeat. It was the 1st day of rehearsal for the new show I'm working on. Much of the "meet & greet" included a short political message (pro-Kerry). I wore a Kerry sticker over each ass pocket on my jeans (given to me by a drag queen at the Greenwich Village Halloween parade) and my
John Kerry is for Lovers t-shirt. I had the most popular outfit in the theatre company.
Later, I ended up watching the news with some coworkers at the local bar, rather heavily Republican bar (except for when we TAKE IT OVER IN FORCE, and I do mean in force). It was depressing and the bartender hated my shirt. I ended up at an election night house party held by some coworkers. It was great to be with like-minded people, but at the same time, I've never felt such despair in a group. Basically, everyone was just wondering how this happened and what country we could go to. If Bush gets "elected" we plan on heading to DC to protest in some fenced in area 25 miles away from the motorcade. Many cigarettes and bottles of wine were consumed. I'm just so depressed by the whole situation. What happened to America?
