Morning's here.
Guys, I don't know what to say. It's not over until it's over, but I know we're all tired, frustrated, and disheartened. You're not going to get flamed in this thread if you admit your heart is pretty much torn this morning. I think we're all feeling a little of it. We still have a chance guys, but I know that's not too hopeful to hear.

For me, I take personally the posts on DU blaming the 18-24 year olds. I worked my ass off getting my friends and other people out and their minds changed. We can't start pointing the finger at each other, we're all going to need each other no matter how this thing goes. So, take a break, get some sleep, and hug your loved ones. We never know what the next four years will bring (or the next few days for that matter) and I'd hate to take a chance on not telling people I love that I love them. :grouphug:

3. Well the GOP picked up seats in the Senate, House, governors office
will get to pick members of the Supreme Court. I think the effect of this election will haunt democrats for years. Before we had just enough influence to in my opinion to make a difference even the repubs in control of all three branches of government. Now with a Bush win and the popular vote in his column he has a mandate to do everything he has been doing and being able to paint Demos as out of touch and going against the good of the country every fucking time.

6. You're right.
And now that he has nothing to worry about (assuming he wins the election), who knows what the hell is going to happen in the next four years. I'm sure we'll find more countries to invade and many more lives will be lost. I'm at a loss.

8. The "blame the youth" contingent really hurts me too.
I'm 23, and I worked harder for John Kerry than I have ever worked for anything in my life, and I know I'm not alone. Everyone I know was fired up, far, far beyond the way it was in 2000.

I feel like we did everything right, and for some reason, we got screwed. I really do genuinely believe there is a large number of votes missing, primarily from our generation. But to see people here on DU saying things like "I hope they get drafted and get what they deserve" just adds insult to injury. It is so unnessesary.

10. I couldn't agree with you more!
Just because some of the youth didn't get out there and vote, that is NO REASON OR EXCUSE for people to say that getting drafted is what they deserve. I don't care what anyone says, that's ridiculous. I know we're all hurt and angry, but that's going WAY too far!

I appreciate all your hard work so much, I know it wasn't always easy. Hang in there.

11. Hey Blondie
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 07:03 AM by Champ
Seeing you here definately brightens my day, basically I just feel that it's unlikely Kerry will win. Just can't believe after Farenheit 9/11, the ass kicking in the debates, all the voter outreaches, terrible economy, the mess Bush has created in Iraq, everything the dems have done for a new direction and Bush gets nearly 60 million votes. Though it's not over yet, I still have hope.

Wish I could've voted but don't turn 18 til Nov. 29 this year. :evilfrown:

13. I know. :(
I'm glad you're here this morning too. I, like you, can't even believe it. I have such a sick, negative feeling about our country. I can't believe after ALL that you mentioned, it was still this close. It's fucking ridiculous. I don't get it buddy, and I don't think I'll ever get it.

:(

15. I don't think I ever will either
It is scary to think about what another 4 years of this will bring. I'm really hoping Kerry can somehow manage to pull this one off. I honestly don't think the Kerry would be wasting their time with all this if they didn't believe they still had a shot at this. *crosses fingers*

16. I know. And all the exit polling is what I don't get.
We were leading in the exit polls, what happened to that?? I seriously think something is up and I believe you, I don't think they would drag it out unless they had some sort of an idea that things could go their way. I hate to say it, but it's not looking good. :(

As for the next 4 years with *, I can't even fathom that right now.

18. G'day, Blondie!
:hi: The results do suck. I know, it sucks that your contemporaries are being blamed for the results. It's not fair.

It's also not fair that voters who claim to care about morals and values would vote for an immoral lying rat bastard. :grr:

I hope that it won't be a long 4 years.

brb, coffee call...!

lol wait a minute, that's the first time I've smiled all morning.

ANYWAY. I think we're in for a hell of four years. I think shit's going to hit the fan and more countries are going to be invaded. This fucking sucks.

20. I hate it when that happens
The only thing that may help is that it wasn't a runaway. But that didn't stop Bush* the first 4 years.

The remaining democrats should find some backbone for the coming weeks.
