Mourning in America...I post the Jewish prayer for the dead
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 08:32 AM by ikojo
in transliterated aramaic.....say it for the dead country that is the USA. Normally the kaddish is said for 11 months following the death of a relative.
When I go to services I intend to stand up during the mourner's kaddish and say it. Had I had it together this morning, I'd have gone to morning minyan but I didn't get up in time.

The Kaddish prayer

Yisgaddal v'yiskaddash sh'mey rabboh
B'olmoh dee-v'ro chir-usey,
V'yamlich malchusey
B'chay-ycyclion uv'yo-meychon
Uv'chay-yey de-chol beys yisro-eyl
Ba-agoloh uvizman koreev
V'imru omeyn.
Y'hey sh'mey rabboh m'vorach
L'olam ul'olmey olmah-yoh
Yisborach, v'yishtabach,
V'yispo-ar v'yisromam,
V'yisnassey v'yis-haddar
V'yis-alleh v'yis-haIlal
Sh'mey de-kudshoh, b'recch hu
L'eyloh* min kol birchosoh v'shirosoh
Tush-b'chosoh v'nechemosoh
Daa-amiron b'olmoh
V'imru omeyn.
Y'hey sh'lomoh rabboh min sh'mayoh
V'chay-im oleynu v'al kol yisro-eyl
V'imru omeyn.
O-seh sholom bimromov
Hu ya-aseh sholom
Oleynu v'al kol yisroe-eyl
V'imru omeyn.

2. Kaddish
I seriousy thought about wearing a shiva ribbon but I didn't want to offend anyone who might have had a loss recently. I do think at services this weekend, I will recite Kaddish.
