Hi everyone I'm back-Nov.2nd our ANNIVERSARY went like this

My brother told me that he will have a catscan on the 16th and they will determine want to do next with regards to his tongue/lymphnode cancer-this is nothing new.

My Mother tells me that he is badly burned from the radiation and my stepfather's grandson is in Falujah Iraq. He was offered a job on Embassy/guard duty at the White House and turned it down to be forced recon and he is with the 1st Marines in Falujah.

My best friend's mother was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand this unbelieveable election. I am sure you have had lots of downer threads here and I usually don't do that but it feels like several tons of bricks fell on us yesterday.

We worked our ASSES off over the weekend.
Saturday-- we set up and ran a 20 line phone bank from the Fire Fighter's union lobby office (great place and GREAT couple who helped us with everything we needed). 9AM-9PM
Sunday-- we had a fantastic crew of callers. We called every name we had in Petersburg and had great responses. Petersburg is heavily black and heavily Dem. 1PM-9PM.We came home and my wife seperated the remaining lists into high Dem voting areas and we organized WHO and WHERE we would call the next day.
Monday--Another great crew and we called all over the state reminding people to Get out The Vote. 9AM-9PM

Yesterday--Got into the office at 8:30 and BAM it was ON! Another great crew, we called and then switched back to check if Petersburg had voted and then switched to check if Richmond precincts had voted-they all had. I drove two women to vote in the midst of this.

Then last night-I'm sorry I know they have true believers like we do but this is bullshit. WHO THE FUCK VOTED FOR KERRY? We had volunteers who were not your typical Dems if they were Dems at all. They came out of the woodwork to DO SOMETHING to help end the Bush reign. Could this have been an anomaly? No, these people looked like our mothers and fathers brothers and sisters-right down the mainstream and our calls showed the same.

I'm not hanging my head (though all the body blows are making it tough) we did more than what we could I just don't understand. My wife called the FIX early last night (beofre I had seen the DU front page or the other sites). None of this made sense and it still doesn't.

Hell we got numbers FROM the Dem Leadership Committee (Clinton's part of the party) one of our callers had a daughter who worked there-these were internals (just like the exit polls everyone else saw) and they had Kerry up 4-5% everywhere. HUGE in NEw Hampshire.

His cancer was very bad, very aggressive. His chances weren't good. He did the whole chemo/radiation/surgery thing-

But he has beat the odds. It has been a little over a year since he finished his treatment. Every say we tell each other we are "Living the Dream".

I didn't know where you were, I haven't read a post for two days and I was freaking with all this shit going on. Damn, I'm glad to hear from you, it's like finding a friend alive after a huge battle.

I'm sorry to hear your news on top of all this, but I'm damn glad to see you.

In the original post it should have read WHO THE FUCK VOTED FOR BUSH? It still kinda works though.
