A very odd nature observation just now...
in north tx, ft. worth are...

several of us were outside taking a smoke break. sunny, cloudless, crisp autumn day. one of us was standing in the shadow of a pole so the direct sun was blocked from his eyes. up in the sky were literally thousands, an endless stream, of spider webs drifting by on the breeze.

4. Certain species of spiders migrate in this manner.
They wait for the wind blowing in the desired direction and then put out their "sails" pieces of web strands.

5. I recall some spiders live completely in the air on their floating webs
pretty high altitude too
