Is my new banner too dramatic?
I'm starting a new political gonzo-ish journal rant project thing. . . yeah, I am still working out the details. But what do you think? Is the banner too over the top?

29. Yeah, I am trying to work on that.
I might replace Chimpy McFlightsuit with a nastier picture of him. Though now I am trying to have the smoke plumes from the Iraqi picture obscuring the Mission Accomlpished banner, to see if that helps hammer the point home.

I considered, for a moment, putting McFlightsuit in front of a row of caskets, but I don't feel right about that. And the gravestones at Arlington, while a striking image, don't mix properly with the rest of the banner. Hrmmmmm.

16. Well, the project is going to be Bush-oriented.
So I am trying to stick with those sorts of themes. Specificly, it gets its name from the Project for the New American Century.

Maybe I could fill in that space when they start hitting Iran. Lucky us.

11. Everything RIGHT of the soldiers is under construction, as is the font.
Thanks for confirming that it needs work. Bush is going to be over there, but I am still deciding in what form. And I think the oil field has too much dead space as well.

It does preach to the choir however. It's good for a rant, but if you're going for right-wing conversions, it's probably a little extreme.

I think the answer to whether it's too dramatic or not depends on your message and intended audience.

I think, after the first entry, where I explain that George W. Bush is primarily different than Osama bin Laden because he has access to better hardware, no amount of pretty graphics are going to keep the Right Wingers around. ;)

24. My original idea was to have a larger picture of Bush on the right.
Similar to Osama's. I might replace Bush and the banner with a larger Bush face and a picture of a strike on an Iraqi city (to REALLY juxtapose the images). Like I said, everything to the right of the soldiers is a bit weak, but this feedback is really helping!

23. I've actually thought a lot about that.
And while Terror isn't finalized, it is a central theme of the project. The way Terror is wielded as a mysterious enemy, a general threat, a phony "war", and an instrument of psychological control. I want to focus on the blowback of Terror, on the mislabeling of Terror, and on the way that PNAC uses Terror, both by manipulating other groups and generating it itself.

However, Terror is not yet set in stone. So I will consider it. Perhaps I will either change it or solidify it as the project gets longer and, thus, has more than one essay attached to it.
