Hell of a week - I've been interviewing war vets
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 04:35 PM by HEyHEY
about their service. I feel bad at first because I don't like poking and prodding into their memories. Then I feel like I may have left them with a flood of terrible memories for a week or something.

Many of them live alone because their wives have passed and stuff too.

3. Do a follow-up phone call or thank-you card to check on 'em
Might do you both good.

5. When I've talked to vets,
I let them know I oppose war but genuinely honor their sacrifice. If they want to talk I let them. If they don't, that's cool. But some vets have opened up to me that wouldn't to anyone else. I find it compelling, but gut-wrenching.

That's a tough job you have. Sorry I made a joke earlier.
