So what's this I hear about purple eyeshadow being bad?

I love purple eyeshadow- it brings out the green in my hazel eyes.
But apparently, someone told me today it's not considered very...class?
WTF?

5. If you are only 19, then eye shadow is definetely good on you,

you have nothing to worry about. I was thinking you were like in your 40's or something. Purple eye shadow is fine for those of us under 30.
