21. I manage a store for a major office supply retailer.
I won't say the name, but it rhymes with "Paples".

And where did you work?

24. Hey, that's a great store.
The selection is often better than the competition.

I worked at a clothing store, a shoe store, and a jewelry store, in that order. The jewelry store rhimed with "males" :) The discount for jewelry was fun. Clothes and shoes wear out, but I still have every piece of jewelry I bought on discount. Inventory was a pain, though.

it's more financially lucrative than dating an unemployed preschool teacher.

22. Believe me, sometimes I WISH I was an unemployed preschool teacher.
It doesn't help that lately I look at my customers and all I see are Republicans.

:hi: Sarah!

23. I find poopy 2 year olds more refreshing than most adults.
They're sweet, innocent, and honest. Not yet corrupted like the rest of us.

Which sucks, when you ARE the manager.

26. I had this guy tonight who called for the manager,
he had a problem with his printer, and he went into detail about how he had followed the instructions provided by the manufacturer's tech support and had not been able to solve the problem.

"No problem", I said, "bring the printer back and we'll give you a replacement or a refund."

He then proceeded to tell me his tech support story FOUR MORE TIMES before he finally let me get off the phone.

I really need to get out of retail.

27. Wugh. Every kind of retail has its problems, but
I can imagine yours is particularly grating. It's probably often like working tech support calls, only in person. You need a hug  From someone who's been there.

Man, I could write a book about my retail experiences. Kids pissing on the floor, and the mother not even commenting on it, much less apologizing. Merchandise thrown at me. Getting attacked by a crazy customer who had to be hauled out by security. Fun times.
