The Tree Song - Rush
Words by Neil Peart, Music by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson

There is unrest in the Forest
There is trouble with the trees
For the Maples want more sunlight
And the Oaks ignore their pleas

The trouble with the Maples
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the Oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light
But the Oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made
And they wonder why the Maples
Can't be happy in their shade?

There is trouble in the forest
And the creatures all have fled
As the Maples scream `Oppression!`
And the Oaks, just shake their heads

So the Maples formed a Union
And demanded equal rights
'The Oaks are just too greedy
We will make them give us light'
Now there's no more Oak oppression
For they passed a noble law
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet,
Axe,
And saw ...

5. Yeah, I'll let you pull it off my server if you want.
I don't normally post links from my home but what the heck. Your response time may be a little slow, especially if a bunch of other folks decide to download it as well.

But here you go.

7. If need be I will take you up on that offer.
I have broadband here, but sometimes when I post links like this to DU I get hundeds of concurrent downloads. Lets see what happens and if I get hammered we may need to put a copy up in your space.

9. Can't help myself
That's a classic, and I don't have that album anymore.

I always loved playing the backing guitar part after the second verse and then blazing into the solo. Lifeson is such a great player.
