Wow. Oh my god...............
How wrong I was. I can hardly believe it.It's 1am and it looks as though Bush is going to win.
Of course there is a slim chance that he won't but I'm going to bed now feeling somewhat dismayed and defeated.It is a horrible feeling to realise that one's beliefs are so out of step with the majority and yet I have never felt more sure of where I stand over my liberal ideals.

It's the morning after and poor old Kerry has conceeded.What a sad state of affairs. It truly blows my mind that America has embraced this administration.I can only conclude that people have not armed themselves with enough information.That they have been hoodwinked and mislead by a cowed press.That they are so fearful that they refuse to take a chance on new leadership and that they are unable to distinguish the enormous difference between Al Qaida and Iraq.
I love America.It's a wonderful,beautiful country that has been so good to me.It changed my life and I love it deeply and unequivocally but it is at times like these that I find it so very hard to understand.


Someone at the studio showed me this outrageous chart out there on the "internets"( to quote our current president).............and it was detailing the average IQ of each of the 50 states of America and how they voted in the most recent presidential election. The chart read from top to bottom.At the very top was the highest average IQ all the way down to the lowest IQ.All the states at the top half of the chart voted without exception for Kerry.All the states at the bottom half of the chart voted for Bush.Right smack bang in the middle of the chart were Virginia and Wisconsin.....each bearing an average IQ of 100.....and needless to say.......one voted for Kerry (GO WISCONSIN!!!) and one for Bush.Now don't you think that is a FASCINATING statistical discovery?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

Okay what else? Now that the election is done and dusted and our political antennas are about to be put away for another few passive years, I just want to take this opportunity to re-emphasis how the current political climate in the US threatens to screw with women's rights around the world.Please I implore you girls.........women...........women-loving men.........please try to practice empathy and support a women's right to control her own body.
It may not affect you personally in your lifetime but please please please think about what CHOICE actually means and how we must stand up and protect that basic right for every woman,man and child on this earth because if we don't, sooner or later....over one thing or another....... they're gonna be coming looking for YOU.

We can't let these people give up. They have voices. They are part of the new press.

I love Shirley. Garbage is a great band and she's a gorgeous, talented and intelligent woman.
