It is quite possible that I feel worse today than I did last week...
Is that even possible? I'm sorry. I'm really trying, but I ran into one of my fellow county Dems, and we just fell into each other's arms in the middle of a gas station parking lot. These are people I shared so much hope with...

2. Look on the bright side, Miz G
Now you can share a whole heaping helping of "hopeless" with 'em, too. They ain't going anywhere, right? And neither are you? And we've suffered through 4 years and untold pointless tragedies, we can suffer through some more, eh? Try not to feel down. The world sucks, but still has a few pretty cool inhabitants.

3. It's been a week now. And yes, sweetie, you can feel worse.
I saw a copy of the newest US News and World Report...the cover is: Bush's 2nd term. That instantly made me feel worse.

I'm not even reading the newspaper anymore.

4. Oh, I feel WORSE.
I'm practically bipolar.

VOTER FRAUD IS REAL: Yipppeeee! We're going to uncover everything!

Five minutes later:

I'M A BIG FAT TINFOIL HATTER: This election is real! We're going to have to endure four more years of SHIT!

Five minutes later:

OPTIMIST: So what! This will make the Democratic Party that much stronger! Power to the people!

Five minutes later:

PESSIMIST: No! The blinders are on for good now! We have turned into a facist nation and we don't even realize it!

I've been like that for a few days now. It's nervewracking. Thank God for Randi Rhodes and Keith Olbermann, they make me feel like "At least someone out there is listening."

6. Its hard to shake
for me its like waking up on monday after a Packers loss. There's a brief moment before what happened hits you again, and then you are awash in gloom and dread. That feeling usually passes by Thursday. This one is harder to forget.

My fear is for our children, my business, our country, our troops. Its a heavy burden. I sense that the wing-nuts are gonna go after single moms, gays and minorities, I fear they feel the lord god bush has given them a mandate. i have aleady seen inclinations in that direction

14. If we need it, we should take
time to regain our strength. Even if the fraud is revealed, it will likely not change the outcome of *this* election. Let's take some time to grieve, and heal, and then get to work on the BBV debacle before midterms in 2006. If we can't get rid of this stuff now, we won't be winning any elections anytime soon.

15. Mrs. Grumpy, I posted earlier today in the Lounge with the same issue
I cried my eyes out last night, for the first time. Today I took the day off from work. Talked to a lot of comforting friends, and just let myself feel the pain. After I read an opinion piece from the LA Times from Robert Scheer, I cheered up a bit. Just one sentence, "In no time at all, Bush will be the lamest of ducks". I am feeling much better now, but boy, was I ever looking into the abyss earlier.

What your feeling is totally normal. Cyber kisses and hugs to you.

17. I am rockin'
Divorcing myself from politics has improved my life by loads in days.

No more newspaper, no more cable 'news'... now I am on TV instead and got a fat raise this past week. My employer is picking up the entire tab of my health insurance premiums for the entire month of December.

Pardon my gloating, but fuck hope, and fuck politics! I don't need them.

And to my enemies, fuck you, I win! :P

19. Oh you poor sweet woman!
Of course you get a hug  from me, I posted a week ago I felt despondent and you were the ONLY person who replied, and I really thank you for that, of course we're all in this cesspool together and it's the same for me, it's depressing as hell now that I'm over the shock and some repuke co-workers are beginning to gloat and I agree it is a practically intolerable position! I'm not sure what to do myself because four more years of this plus being told I lack moral values is totally unbearable!

20. It gets really hard to deal with at times
You aren't alone, MrsGrumpy. There's this feeling of helplessness. Even though at least 56 million people voted for Kerry, I feel isolated. If you have Air America, that is a BIG help. It's kept me from feeling worse. I'm already looking forward to 2006 and 2008. And Bush may be so bad in a couple years that Repubs like Chafee could re-evaluate their decisions to stay in the Republican party. After all, they'll be up for re-election and won't want the Repuke party image hurting them. Also, I'm bolstered by the news that Dean wants to be head of the DNC. Would be the first step to being a real opposition party. We need to hold Bush off for a couple years before his lame duckness really sets in. Hope we've made you feel better. :hi:
