Regrets? I've had a few....
but then again, too few to mention....You know, one of them is (not the most important one , obviously), that I NEVER GOT TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU GUYS ON THIS BOARD!!!!:-(

As the momentum built on election day, and the booze started to flow, and the "A toast to DU...." threads started to multiply, I saw, just for a moment, how beautiful it was going to be.

And it would have been beautiful, baby. The day after the election on DU would have been heaven.

1. For one brief, shining moment, you were allowed a glimps of a new
Camelot.

Keep that vision in mind, we will make it a reality one day.

2. Meh.
It would've been largely the same, I think, except that fewer of us would've been crying, and there wouldn't have been all that weird, shocky silence, and there may have actually been like some slim twinkle of happiness somewhere on the dismal fucking planet, and maybe we wouldn't have all been utterly fucking doomed and all. But other than that, pretty much the same.

4. Here's reality
The honeymoon would have been over pretty quickly. Then Kerry would have had to deal with the horror that is the America that Bush messed up. He wouldn't have been able to do it all and make progress in the places we wanted too. So we would have started tearing him and his administration apart.

Don't doubt it. It's the intellectual nature of liberalism ... we're never really satisfied.

9. "we're never really satisfied" ..... And thank god for that.
Intellectual curiosity... it's what keeps us moving forward, not backward, as we are now.

5. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing...
And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and ev'ry highway;
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I've had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
"No, oh no not me,
I did it my way".

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

I frigging did it MY WAY. I gave it everything I had, as did others on this board. Thanks for the lyrics:)

10. It would have been so sweeet...
and I have to differ with some here; I think the mood would have lasted. I think that we would have used our enthusiasm to support Kerry, and to nudge him in the right direction.
