Well..... prolesunited & I are officially FINISHED.
Finished demolishing and disposing of the back porch, that is. Apparently, having a possum falling through the roof and sitting in her chair was the final straw. (You should have heard the frantic "OHMYGOD there's a POSSUM!" call that I got last week. hahahaha!)

Demolition took place on Saturday and on Sunday morning. I was the king of the sledgehammer, and made many manly grunts after knocking free each large section. The dumpster was delivered this morning, and was filled and ready to go in less than five hours. (This was a 10 x 15 fully-enclosed porch, BTW.)

As a team, we ROCK!

Right now, I'm soothing my aching back with ibuprofin and bourbon. Perfect solution to muscle aches, glug glug glug.

What did you think I was talking about?

4. LOL.... That's great!
I would have loved to have seen the Possum thing!

If you get a cough with the rest of the aches, put some honey and lemon in with the bourbon and you will have the best remedy for a cold in the world!

6. Great therapy, isn't it?
I've done in a couple of garages with a sawzall and a sledgehammer.

I'm working the cedar stand now, taking a hatchet to the low branches so we can start taking walks and cc ski through the woods. I'll bet I've cleared 3 acres worth in the past week. "Take that Dimson. Hear's one for you, Dickhead...." I always feel better after a couple of hours of therapy. Pass the aspirin...

8. Wonderful therapy.
Not many activities can compare with beating the livin' shit out of something with a hammer. Even better! Her brother-in-law brought me a fiberglass handle MAUL on Saturday morning. Damn, you can create a lot of destruction with one of those!

13. Don't worry
The possum is safe, though I fear we may have destroyed one of his nighttime haunts.

15. Unfortunately, I came down with a throat infection
and I haven't been able to show the appropriate appreciation of those manly grunts. Fortunately, my contagious period is almost over.

Talk about a somewhat depressing visit, though. First, we lose the election, then we have to demolish the porch and then I get sick. :-(

Amazingly enough, there hasn't been a cross word between us. Must be love. :loveya:
