A thread about last night's episode of "Lost"? Didn't see one...
I thought it was probably the best episode so far. The goings on at the island and also the back story of that Sawyer guy were great I thought. And next week's looks even more interesting.

Thoughts?

1. I love that show - watched it from the beginning
check your online TV guide - I've caught it later in the week but I can't remember what station.

2. I love what they are willing to do with Sayid
It is a very bold show, not many would have the "heroes" torture the "bad guy."

4. Yeah, I agree....
The fact that they make one of the heroes so morally ambiguous is bold writing. I mean the fact that they have him have been an Iraqi republican guardsmen who clearly has tortured people, yet not have him be the villain but while not ignoring his dark past is just something you don't see on tv.

3. Well written, just enough action
ABC came through this season with Lost and Desperate Housewives.

10. Check a fan site for episode summaries.
I liked the first show but have missed a few. However, fan sites summarize each episode in great detail for us sluggards. Here's one:

www.lost-tv.com/episodes/

There will be re-runs & the fan sites will have the info.

6. Sawyer pisses me off with his 'rugged individualist John Wayne
every man for himself' crap. I don't care that they are hinting that he is a tortured sensitive guy. I don't buy it. He's an asshole.

8. I disagree...
In fact I maintain that in that situation, the reality is that more people would be acting like he is than would be acting like the "Let's all work together!" optimists. Maybe I'm a cynic but I think he's actually the most realistic character on that show.

7. Best network TV show character development ever.
I just love how they show us a little something about individuals each week.

11. Well I can't buy the whole story on Lock. See, some guy who's been in a
wheelchair for how long can't get up and walk. He wouldn't have the muscle tone; unused muscles whither and die off.

But I like his whole zen thing, he's a MANLY man!

And I can't WAIT to find out the whole story on the korean couple! WOW!

13. Yeah, but there is also a ''monster'' too.... it's not meant to be
totally realistic... but I know what you mean. Things like that bug the hell outta me when they are being portrayed as realistic stories.

The actor who plays Locke is very sexy IMO! Beautiful eyes, and a great smile!

I like the Koreans' story too!

9. Some of the best writing I've seen on TV in years
I like that the writers and actors aren't afraid to take their characters to that "slippery slope". Jack and Sayid, now that they have actually gone to the extreme of torturing a man for information (no matter how good their intentions may have been), now have to live with themselves and decide where they go from here. It's going to be all too easy, now that they've crossed the line, to cross it again and again. Sayid is dealing with it by separating himself from everyone else. How is Jack, with his already somewhat wounded psyche, his hero complex, and his self-image as "the good guy", going to deal with the emotional fallout from this? And now that Kate knows something about Sawyer, does she see a connection between them that she didn't see before? I see a very interesting love triangle developing here.

As I said, good stuff. I can't wait to see how it develops.
