Let's all move to Massachusetts.
Oops. Sorry. I mean TAXachusetts. Let's all go to gay wedding receptions and write letters to the Boston Globe saying fuck bush. Let's be with our own kind. Let's breathe free again. Am I making sense or should I take my medication now? Eh?

I think it has something to do with the Kennedy-mystique from my

We all move into the big electoral states, get into power, then eliminate the electoral college since repukes never will, after doing what we'd be attempting.

If we all move to Mass. First of all there won't be room. Secondly, the Electoral college will always favor the right.

17. Not true, actually.
The electoral college is based on population. If we overload the blue states with people, they'll get more electoral votes given to them. Let's get PA up to 50! Cali up to 100!

24. You're not following me.
The population of each state is what the number of electoral votes is based on. It doesn't matter how many states are red and how many blue. It matters how many votes those states have. That's how the Rethugs can win 3/4 of the states and only have 51% (MAYBE) of the vote.

25. You're not thinking about this right
Each state gets 2 electoral votes before population is even considered. If every liberal moves to Massachusets then there will be an 98-2 split in the senate with the Democrats being in the minority. The other Electoral votes are based roughly on population. So, of the 438 house seats suppose MA had half of them because every liberal in the country lived there. MA goes blue the rest of the country goes red. EV totals look like this Republican 219+98 Democratic 219+2 Republicans win

True enough. I guess I was just fantasizing about living in the America I grew up with; and thinking Mass is the closest thing to it right now. We all know the challenges that face us over the long haul, but I also think we need a little stroking right now, even if it is whimsical.

9. Housing in Mass is crazy expensive. Bars close at 1 a.m. No alcohol
sold on Sundays. Lived there 15 years and enjoyed it, but to get a reasonable house, moved to NH, that and the no Helmets on the motorcycle thing. Don't concentrate our numbers, move somewhere your vote counts, i.e. a swing state. Mine did here in NH and it got me to volunteer for Kerry. Met great friends and really had fun.

There actually are some states that are great to live in that we could flip rather easily - let's just have all of us from dark red states move to Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada!

That's really a feasible plan... I'll do it.

I lived in Tucson for a while, it's a terrific city. So is Bisbee and southern Arizona in general.

Definitely Santa Fe, Taos, or just anywhere to the NE of Albuquerque would be good. New Mexico is one state we could flip in a hurry.

If all of us get together in a couple of states like Mass., Conn., NY, or whatever.. the population swing can deliver more electoral votes, right? We'd need to do it close to the next census to make sure that we all get counted in our liberal utopia.
