1. Hmm.
Boy and October are both great, too.

But even with all three of those, I have to go with The Joshua Tree. It's their masterpiece, IMO.

2. Ditto
But hell, U2 is just so good..it's nearly impossible for me to chose between "Joshua Tree", "War", and "October".
God, it's hard. And even then, "All That You Can't Leave Behind" ain't that shabby either.

3. Strangely though, I didn't really like The Joshua Tree very much.
It was okay for me, but not my favorite.

6. Really?
Every song on that album is brilliant. "Running to Stand Still" "In God's Country"...man..

7. The music was good, but the album itself didn't mesh together..
....as well as others for me.

8. I totally agree.
One of the very few albums in my life that I can listen to straight through. Brilliant, brilliant album.

9. While "War" is a fine album, I prefer "Zooropa".
Some of Eno's best work as a Producer can be found on Zooropa. This was not a forced work. It just kinda came about. Those are the kinds of album I enjoy most. Stuff that just happens by accident.

Call it, serendipity.

12. I completely agree about Zooropa
And I'm not ashamed to admit just how much I liked Pop.

If You Wear that Velvet Dress....
Although Love is Blindness from AB ranks up there as well.
Haunting stuff......

If you people only knew...

11. War is awesome
That was one of the first records I ever bought and loved. I always thought the discontinuity of the album was a purposeful statement.

They've explored creatively and reinvented their sound so many ways and still come up with albums that are solid, first tune to the last.
I'm not sure I could decide between The Joshua Tree and War.

Plus you gotta give Bono props for speaking out without being a wuss. Tom Hanks is just annoying when he does it - Bono kicks it.
