hello - I have not really talked to anyone all day - pls talk to me - LOL
I went to lunch and spoke with the waitress - I was headed to get something eat right now

I find some days I just stay on du or keeping checking email - in hopes that someone wants to communicate with me

sad I guess

just never seemed to have been that someone special in someones life - for life

had a niece once who thought I was terrific - missed me more than her parents - that was the end of that relationship - actually that happened twice - they loved me

I miss that wonderful feeling
don't party anymore - so it is hard to meet people
I teach online

ok enough sad junk ________________________

what can I say - just feeling alone
trying to make a decision about a move and where to move to -
pluses and minuses to both places

orlando - so I can bop over to disney for an afternoon or evening concert - something to do that is safe and fun - alone
raleigh nc - because it is so green and safe and right now rents are less than where I am

beach area - ocean but no real jobs - that is whre orlando helps because the beach is not far but I know I am going to hate the heat - then I jump to raleigh and think it might have more potential job wise and then I am 2-3 hours from the beach and there are nice lakes - I may be romantizing the place - I lived there 16 years ago for 18 years

I just want to live some where safe, homey, and fun (I don't do clubs anymore) - so having stuff to do is where disney comes in - I know after a couple of years it might get boring - but then I can move again

and my mind continues to spin - I put stuff on ebay today - need to get more out there - I have a long list of to do's and I procrastinate a lot

then do I live in apartment complex with nice carpet and fireplace and trees and greenway right there for biking and walking or do I live in duplex in rich neighbor hood but rents are lower than any mortgage for the area - oh my

or orlando - live in mobile home in nice gated community with older folks to dote on me -

thanks for listening - I am going to go eat - I will check back later

2. What I wonder is why Fla Du'ers don't seem to do get togethers
there seem to be quite a few Du'ers out there...heck even having coffee with someone regularly would be fun...lots of nice people on this site.

Sorry for the loneliness you are feeling today

12. I don't live in fla now
I took a road trip oct 22th to there though - I had never been to the mickey halloween party and decided I wanted to go - I got in the car at 1pm and got to orlando at 3:30am and slept in the car at a rest stop - lots of other people did the same thing

went to sea world for one day
disney for the halloween night - it was a lot more fun than I expected

then I had to go to the mountains of virginia for two day conference - and used that as the excuse to look at places along the way to live and move to

getting together would probably be great but takes a social calendar type person to arrange or a standard meeting at a certain time each week

I loved paris when I went in the early 80's

One book I have always love but haven't read in years is Mr. God this is Anna

liked our wildest dreams - a book for women entrepreuneurs (sp)

I also like an unknown move called the Boy who could Fly - very upbeat

11. Movies and such
I love "It's a wonderful life" and "The Straight Story".

I enjoy a wide berth of movies though, so no real all time favorite - though "A beautiful mind" is near the top.

I read a lot of computer books and religious works, but I love horror as well. Math is a hobby of mine, I mainly focus on number theory. I like to program, but only for things I want to use.

My best friend is a gay libertarian who votes republican mainly and also happens to be one of the best programmers I know. We have spent many a years together having a blast and doing oddball things, like watching eraserhead and then coding for fun (while others we knew were at the movies and hitting the bars). We were in the chess club together some 21 years ago and have a lot of weird stories to tell.

I love the fall, like the winter, love the spring, and could live well without summer except when I am traveling the southwest where it seems summer brings out the beauty of the land and the heat one would expect.

My favorite books are the works of Hannah More and her letters and a wonderful work from 1860 by D.A. Randall called the handwriting of God.

Have I talked your eyes off yet :)

13. nope still have my eyes but my stomach is saying feed me
I love skiing but the last time I went to Mt. Baker in Washington about 3 years ago - I feel down and could not get up - I was in tears - I have gained weight and gotten out of shape -

I love skiing in 25-30 degrees and meandering down the slopes - it feels so good to go down the slopes and be outside - actually that is what triggering my quitting the corporate life

I had been up in Vermont at a ski club lodge and it was March - beautiful time to ski - perfect warm and sunny days and great snow - well I was to have a meeting with the director - once I found out how good the snow and weather were - I decided I wanted to stay two more days - so I called the directors secretary and talked with her - she didn't see any problem with moving the time and date -

well my manager went through the roof when I got back - saying the director is important and his time is important and I shouldn't just move things around - well the new date and time - the director cancelled to go to his kids play - blah

I quit in May - too much pressure and craziness - who knew this would be worse - and who knew in the early 90's I could not buy a computer job in the north east

5. Hello
Anytime you wanna chat, you just let me know, alright!:hi:

On your house search, I wouldn't do the mobile home thing.
Raleigh sounds like a beautiful place. I've never been. But since you've already lived there, maybe try something close by to there just so it's not like you're back in the same stop.

On Orlando, that would be fun for awhile but if it's only going to be short term, you have to think about your job situation. Do you have a job that you can move around alot?

Last thing-Get that list of to-do's down. You'll feel a bit of satisfaction when you start crossing things off the list and it'll make you feel better and keep you busy in the process!

8. I have not had a real job in over 10 years
once lived in the corporate world - couldn't take it - now I can't take this poverty stuff either - at least I had the money for travel then

Raleigh is where I was with corporate world - painful to go back but it is so safe

right now I teach part time online - if I leave here I can probably still do that - I teach one face to face - if I leave they will know I am gone - if I go to Raleigh - it is 4 hours from here - so I could comute one day a week - not sure a full time job will ever open up here

when I look at the papers - all jobs look like they such or pay little

can't stand the cubicle - can't compete with the young -

I always have a to do list - no matter what year - except when I had a real job and did bars - and didn't care

so the job thing is so iffy - I never know until the beginning of a semester if classes will make

I need to move out of this apartment - can't take being a downstairs person anymore - been here 7 years and 5 have been hell - landlord wants new lease and another 50 a month and he just did that last year

not that great a place - when I ran by raleigh on the way back from the va mountains - I saw all these for rent signs and apartment complexes have much lovelyer places for less - so

10. Well you have to go where the pocketbook
can take you.

I wish I had more answers for you. Just hang in there and take one dat at a time.

You need to write down what things inspire you, motivate you, get you excited, etc.

and figure out what job you would like to do. Maybe this will help lead you in the right direction.

I told my friend to do that 2 years ago. She had been a manager at a school uniform store.

After she made the list, she realized she was interested in interior decorating, like homes, small businesses.
So she went to design school (or whateve kind of school you call it).
She's doing well now!

Good luck!

14. I was thinking that with the move to raleigh = nc state
has an architect program - and I think they have design school - but I have to consider being in the over 55 crowd blocks lots of jobs and of course I need to get this weight off

I am not sure where there are jobs - if they all look ugly -

I have been trying to decide what I want to do for the last 16 years - I have tried and done lots of things

after 15 years with corporate - I have not held any job very long since - although I have been teaching part time for 4 years - it is no fun putting up with non learners - who have no interest or what to break your stones

so I know the answers are suppose to be within me - but they must be really really really hidden - because I still haven't found my talent - I just do lots of things - and people say how talented I am - but I have not found a way to turn that into monetary gain

I want to be very rich - and travel and yet I want to settle down - actually I need a home base - and then I love road trips and being gypsy

15. You have a lot of soul searching to do
And only you can to it.

You can make things happen. Just think positively. Heck, join a support group. There are millions of people out there in the same situation you are.

Look at it this way, you are not alone. There have been people in a lot worse situations than you are in and those people did something about it and overcame any obstacles in their path.

7. Hey, how's it going?
well that's too bad to hear...My job puts me in a similar predicament often, I'm basically THE Art Department for my company and I have an office where I do computer graphics and send email, etc...I do talk to my bosses and the people in the main office upstairs, though, and all the people are very nice, I'm lucky to have a job like this...

But yeah, most of my friends have gotten hitched and are busy raising their kids, I live alone now with two nice cats though, like you I no longer do the club thing either...

I like posting here, 99.99% of the time it is a very friendly place and I like the folks who post here also. Sometimes I'll go a day or two without posting but I always visit every day, it's a good place to share and sometimes smile, sometimes feel sad....kinda like real life used to be for a lot of people!

9. I spend hours here - that is addictive - my isp kicks me off after
four hours - when it does I know I have been on too long and force myself to go

I want to be an art department
photography and travel - talking to new and different people every day would be terrific - but I need someone to help me stay focused and have to turn something in - assignments -

can't seem to get my own thing going - need that connection
