Does Anyone else ever kick a thread from page 20? Like one that had
no original replies? I do this every once in awhile. I don't really know why, but so many great posts sink, and I feel as if I am doing a small bit for humanity. Try it sometime. It's fun! :hi:

You're tampering with the natural order of the web.
It's like you have Thread-Death laid up on yer couch with a tweaked ankle, so the threads just can't die. It's very sinister, when you stop and think about it. You're invoking powers - if not god-like, then certainly demigod-like powers - in the kingdom of the interwebs. No good can come of this. I think it must be YOUR fault * won.

I've been wondering since before I joined DU - what exactly is a kick and how does one kick a thread?

I understand it's a good thing, and it keeps the thread at the top of the list. Is it just any random reply?

9. I just kicked this thread
with this reply. Everytime a reply is posted, it "kicks" the thread to the top of the list on the page. The more kicks, the more it is kept up at the top where people are more likely to see it.

If you want a thread to die, don't respond to it! LOL!
